Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I need a Triathlon background to participate?
A. No, this event is for children of any fitness level and sporting background. We encourage all students to take on the Pahoia School Triathlon.



Q. How old do I have to be to enter the triathlon?
A. If you are between 5 and 13 years of age, you can participate in this event. You must be in Year 0 - 8 at school.
Your age is taken as of the day of the event.

 

Q. How do I enter the Pahoia School Triathlon?

A: You can either register now online for $30. Go back to the home page and click the Register Now button. Login if you already have a Kindo/School Shop account otherwise you will need to click ‘Create an account’ and follow the steps. Or you can register on the day at the event for $35


Q. How much does it cost to enter the Pahoia School Triathlon?
A. The entry fee is $30 if you register and pay online before Thursday 9th March.  If you register and pay on the day it is $35. Please note that there are limited numbers for each age group, so make sure you register early to avoid disappointment.

Q. What do I get for my entry fee ?
A. All participants will receive a Pahoia School Triathlon race wristband, a t-shirt and a goodie bag. The first 5 in each age/gender group receive a medal.

Q. When do I have to register by?
A. All registrations must be in by Wednesday 8th March.  Spaces are limited to 350 participants.  Do not wait until the day to register and pay online, as you may be disappointed.

 
Q. Where will I be biking and running?
A. You will complete all three legs (SWIM BIKE RUN) in and around Crapp Reserve (Omokoroa Domain). Please refer to the Course Maps section on this website.

 

Q. Can children with special needs participate?
A. Yes. All children are encouraged to participate and be involved in this event. Parents will need to coordinate appropriate support.

 

Q. What happens if the weather on the event day is wet?
A. The event will continue as planned.  In exceptional circumstances, the race organisers may need to modify the course for safety reasons.
